With the successful integration of WhatsApp Business and PhoneLine+, you can now effortlessly send and receive messages. WhatsApp Business operates differently from standard WhatsApp conversations. To initiate contact with your customer, you must send the first message using a predefined template.
To manage your message templates, navigate to the WhatsApp Manager located within your Facebook Business account.
Create a message template
Navigate to your WhatsApp Manager account, found in business.facebook.com.
You can create your template here and submit it for WhatsApp approval. The approval process usually takes anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours.
Note! you need to make sure you set the language of your template to English (UK) otherwise it will fail to send correctly.
Within the ‘Manage Templates’ area, click ‘Create Template’.

When you create a template, you will need to select:
- The category that best describes your message, i.e. Marketing
- English (UK) (it will fail if ‘English’ alone is selected).
- A template name.

Once configured, your template will show in your template library.
Sending and receiving a WhatsApp message
To send a message, click the message icon within the a caller information card on the ‘Home/Actions’ screen.

To start a conversation through WhatsApp integration on PhoneLine+, you must first choose a template for this purpose.

When responding to a message through WhatsApp integration, there is no need to use a template.
WhatsApp character limit
Please note, there is a character limit of 4,096 for WhatsApp for Business.
